Keeping Track (February 23, 2012)

Last Week at the Movies
Weekend overtime started this past weekend so I didn’t make it to the multiplex after all, but I did catch the penultimate film in the IMA’s Technicolor series, Charade. There was a shortish introduction on Hepburn’s Givenchy-designed wardrobe in the film. I must say her character dressed exceptionally well for someone living out of a suitcase.
Last Week at Home
More Bollywood movies on Netflix streaming; three comedies of different stripes, each good (to very good) in its own way.
Hum Tum- loose remake of When Harry Met Sally but this version I adored
Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year- reminded me of In Good Company in the way it treated business, and the people who work at it, with seriousness
Tees Maar Khan- Akshay being goofy in a spoof of moviemaking thinly cloaked as a heist film
New in Theaters This Weekend
A surprising four wide releases: Act of Valor, an action movie unique in starring actual active-duty Seals in realistic scenarios; serial killer movie Gone; time-warp commune comedy Wanderlust; and the latest self-titled opus from Tyler Perry, Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds.
What have you been watching? What are you looking forward to?
