Keeping Track (December 22, 2011)

by HELEN GEIB

Last Week at the Movies

The Skin I Live In- I did not see that coming

Last Week at Home

The Muppet Christmas Carol- my second favorite version of the story

New in Theaters This Weekend

The onslaught continues.

The Adventures of Tintin and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo started yesterday and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol expanded from its IMAX-only first weekend. Family drama We Bought a Zoo starts tomorrow. Locally on the arthouse circuit, The Artist also starts tomorrow (at the Landmark’s Keystone Art Cinema).

Joining The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in the “why Christmas weekend?” category is sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour, opening Christmas Day. Also on Sunday: Steven Spielberg’s second film of the week, War Horse.

For starters, I’ll be catching up with Sherlock Holmes 2 with the film club tomorrow night. Sometime in the next week or two I hope/intend to get to The Artist, Mission Impossible 4, Tintin, Young Adult, and The Descendants. So many movies to fit into an already extremely busy schedule, so many weeks over the last three months when there was nothing to see….

What have you been watching? What are you looking forward to?
