Happy New Year!

by HELEN GEIB

In 2009, Commentary Track gained three new writers, published 105 movie reviews, made 52 DVD recommendations, and added “Thinking Outside the Multiplex” as a regular Friday feature.

Our five most popular reviews were of Public Enemies, The Crow, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Body Heat, and Grindhouse.

Not coincidentally, the top  search terms that brought people to the site were “The Crow” and “Public Enemies.” Those were closely followed by perennial favorite “Desperado” (searchers were rewarded with James’ haiku), while the top referrer was the IMDb’s external reviews page for Gamer.

Best wishes for 2010 and thanks for reading!

Thanks to the whole team. I enjoy reading the reviews and ‘Thinking Outside…” is a great feature. I just found ’50 best Hong Kong films of the decade’ on the LoveHKFilm blog. It was a lot of fun and made me wonder, have you thought of doing a ‘best of’ list?

We have and we are, but a more modest top ten. :-) Our personal “best of 2009″ lists will start appearing in February.
