Whisper of the Heart is a very nice film. This isn't a film with social/ecological messages being exposed on celluloid, but one of sheer enjoyment and escape into a unique world on it's own with the characters and how was Haru going to get herself out of his engagement that's imposed on her will. Whisper of the Heart, the other film mentioned here is also quite enjoyable if anyone gets a chance to see it. It's a nice slice-of-life approach to a girl trying to figure out her goals at an important time in her life while finding out new feelings and interest in another person she meets. The animation is wonderful and even the serious moments are handled with a light touch. I could have gone on and on about the comedy too. The cat king's visit of state to Haru's house (shown in the still) was another great, funny sequence. I really loved this movie.
