I personally disliked the fact the film was basically a rip off Fight Club.

That, and the ending in which the killers give in to fate instead of creating it for themselves somewhat angered me.

While I'm not sure that the review or any of the comments are wrong, I actually enjoyed the film. This is a testament to the power of low expectations and to a fine performance by McAvoy, who often seems to be inhabiting his own personal film while absurdity resides all around him.

A basically unpleasant and unenjoyable film. However, I would add a half star to your rating, for the following reasons. While it was one of the primary reasons the film was so unpleasant, I must admit the depiction of the Fraternity assassins as vicious, despicable, amoral psychopaths struck an unexpected note of psychological credibility. Although a gullible fool and frequently obnoxious, Wesley was a little bit likeable by the end; I credit McAvoy entirely for that. I enjoyed the direction, particularly in the action scenes and most particularly in the climactic sequence. The visual stylings are certainly not enough to redeem this mess of a film, but they are at least one of the few pleasurable aspects.

Yeah, sounds about right. I'm not sure if anyone was expecting much more than this, but I certainly wasn't.

I was tired of this one by the end of the trailer. Yet this frenetic drivel will play everywhere and Sayle's 'Honeydripper', to mention only one recent example, can't get decent distribution.
