It took two months but did make it to the provinces. It does play at two levels, as you suggest, but is quite entertaining in the same way a good thriller/beach novel can be when you let it carry you through on a sitting. I thought the pacing - suspense, relaxation, suspense - was very good, and I'll admit that I grew rather fond of the main characters and was pleased to have a happy ending. It's cleverly done and I enjoyed deconstructing the film afterwards as much as viewing it.

I don't know how wide a distribution this will get before it leaves theaters. French movies fare better than other nationalities on the art-house circuit so it may play outside the big three cities. I think it would prove popular, if it got the chance.

I'd really like to see this, but naturally Netflix only has a "save" option. I love a good French movie.
