		<description>I agree with your read on McCandless&#039;s character, and that it&#039;s one of the more unusual and interesting aspects of the movie. I have to admit, though, that in my case the interest it added was probably outweighed by the ever-escalating annoyance I felt at his self absorption. 

I absolutely agree about the cinematography. The movie is beautifully filmed and I also thought it would receive an Oscar nom in that category.</description>

		<description>I liked this film better than you did, though I didn&#039;t love it. I think the emotional force in this film comes from the fact that McCandless is such a disagreeable character. He seems to be an easy-going, likable person, but the truth is that he has trouble bonding and is unnecessarily cruel to the people that he cares about. I find that interesting.

Plus, I think the cinematography in this film is absolutely brilliant. I&#039;m surprised it wasn&#039;t nominated.</description>
