Damon's strong performance contributes what substance Ultimatum has, but even that is founded in the richer story of Bourne Identity. Not that Ultimatum (like Supremacy) isn't very enjoyable as an action film and well worth seeing for that reason, but Identity worked as both character drama and action. The car chase in Bourne Supremacy was indeed superb. The action highlight of Ultimatum was unquestionably the relentless, pulse-pounding, breathtaking foot chase in Tangiers. I felt the same.
